Local food banks

OROVILLE – The Oroville food bank operates every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., excluding holidays, in the basement of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. For more information, call Jeff Austin at 476-3978 or Jessica Lakey at 476-3817.

TONASKET – The Tonasket food bank operates every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 300 S. Whitcomb Ave. Drop-offs can be made at Tonasket Tavern. For more information, call Jack Gavin at 486-2480 or Debby Curren at 486-2459.

Youth Soccer Registration

OROVILLE – Oroville Youth Soccer Club Registration is now open online at www.ncwsoccer.com. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or referee or have any questions about registration please contact Rachel Rawley at (509) 476-2694 or Tina Koepke at (509) 476-2777.

Belly Dance into spring

OROVILLE – Join other women in the joy of dance. New sessions will begin on Thursday, March 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. behind the Oroville Episcopal Trinity Church on Fir and Central. Swing Dance Class

TONASKET – Beginning Country Swing Dance classes will begin March 5 at the Community Cultural Center. Participants must have a partner. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Community Cultural Center is located at 411 S. Western Ave., Tonasket. Call (509) 476-2063 or (509) 486-2061 for more information.

Junior Baseball

TONASKET – Registration for Tonasket Junior Baseball, ages 12 and under, will be March 8 at the THS Commons from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can also obtain a registration form from the Tonasket Middle School or by calling Tom Cory at (509) 486-1646. Coaches and board members are needed as well.

Dollars for Scholars Talent Show

OROVILLE – The Dollars for Scholars Talent Show and Silent Auction is being held on Tuesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school commons. The cost to enter is $3 and desserts, coffee and cocoa are free.

OROVILLE – The upcoming March classes with North Valley Community Schools is as follows: March 3, 4 and 8 – Wine Grape Growing with Craig Hinkley. March 6 – Financial aid workshop for college bound students and their parents with Jack Williams. March 11, 20 and 25 – GPS 101 with instructor Steve Quick. March 12 – Backyard Pests with instructor Jerry Nelson. March 13 – A History of Vaudeville with Allene Halliday and starting March 18 – Beginning Dowsing and Divining class with Michael Stewart. John Reuben in concert

OMAK – Nashville hip-hop artist, John Reuben, will perform at the Omak Performing Arts Center with guest, Veteran Greene, on March 5.
