Tigers use big run to swat Hornets

TONASKET – Tonasket’s boys basketball team shook off stubborn Oroville with a huge run in the third quarter, outscoring the Hornets 26-9 to break the game open.

The Tigers took an 11-point lead early in the second quarter, but Oroville scratched back to within five points shortly before the half.

The Tigers scored the final six points of the second quarter and led by as much as 57-26 late in the third quarter.

Oroville’s (1-3) Connor Hughes led all scorers with 26 points.

Tonasket (3-0) was paced by Michael Orozco with 20 points, Colton Leep with 16 points, Dyllan Gage with 13 points and Roberto Juarez with nine rebounds.
