OROVILLE – After defeating the number three ranked Liberty Bell Lady Lions at home at districts, the Hornets assured themselves a place in the upcoming State Fastpitch Tournament – it was just unforeseen if they would go in as the number one or number two seed.

That was decided at East Wenatchee last Saturday when Oroville fell to the Kittitas Lady Coyotes 23 to 2 in the District finals. However, Oroville will go on to play.

Relying on strong hitting and an uncanny ability to steal bases, Oroville beat Liberty Bell 10 to 7 in a nail-biter on Thursday, May 20 to move on to the District finals. The girls are headed to the State Tournament in Yakima which will be played May 28 and May 29.
