CHESAW – Colt Kartchner of Danville, Wash., was this year’s Senior All Around Cowboy at the annual Chesaw Fourth of July Rodeo. Local, Dustin Nigg, took home the All Around honors in the Junior division.

Kartchner was awarded a belt buckle donated by Tonasket Feed and Supply and Nigg won the Art Leslie Memorial belt buckle donated by Steve and Carol Leslie and Harry and Millie Leslie.

The turn out for the rodeo was good, according to Carol Leslie, one of the event’s organizers and treasurer for the Chesaw Rodeo Club.

“We had more than last year and from what I can tell we sold all but a few tickets at the gate. The streets were full and the stands were full,” Leslie said, adding that the participation at the dance the night before was also excellent.

“It was a good crowd and nobody got into trouble, which is always a good thing,” she said.
