OROVILLE – February means the Principal’s Challenge at Oroville Elementary where the students earn motivational rewards if they meet the principal’s goal and this year that meant Joan Hoehn ended up standing on her head as one of the rewards.
TONASKET – The Tonasket School District continues to examine the feasibility of returning the district to a full-length school day for the first time in more than a decade, as Superintendent Paul Turner outlined at the Tuesday, Feb. 27, board meeting.
OROVILLE – GEAR UP and the Oroville School District held it’s annual Career Fair with students from Oroville and Tonasket attending the Feb. 8 event.
OKANOGAN – Voters sent local school districts a Valentine’s present Tuesday, Feb. 14 approving Maintenance and Operations Levies by well over the margins needed to pass.
OROVILLE – The fact post season tournaments for boys and girls wrestling are held at two different locations raised the question of whether a volunteer coach could stand in the corner for the girls and still meet federal Title IX requirements.
OROVILLE – Music Director Eric Stiles shared the numbers and types of musical instruments the Oroville School District will be receiving through a generous Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation grant during the PTO Town Hall last month.
TONASKET – The Tonasket School Board’s approval of curricula for middle school suicide prevention education and high school language arts highlighted actions taken at the Monday, Jan. 23, meeting.
OROVILLE – The Oroville Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) brought together school board members, staff and the community at a special Town Hall meeting last week to discuss issues involving the Oroville School District.
OROVILLE – Gordon Korman, world-renowned author of children’s books, came to Oroville to inspire the budding writers in the elementary school’s third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.
OROVILLE – Custodians and maintenance personnel worked extremely hard this summer to paint and repair our schools.
