Looking forward to working with reporter

I wanted to extend a special welcome to your new reporter Amy Veneziano. I have met and talked with her on two different occasions and she seems to be a very eager and attentive reporter. I am looking forward to working with her in the future, especially with our events at the Community Cultural Center of Tonasket.

I want to comment on her article in the paper last week concerning our benefit auction. All of the information was correct except for the live music that was played during the dinner and silent auction. This music was played by our very talented local musicians, John Jones, Sandy Vaughn and Sonny Lanigan. We want to again thank them for their excellent entertainment.

I had visited with Amy and mentioned our upcoming events which does include the reported band, “Standing Room Only-SRO” group, which will be at the Center for a rockin’ stompin’ night on Feb. 9.

Our Community Cultural Center auction brought in almost $5,000 and I would like to publicly thank all of the people who made this event possible, all of the community members who donated their artwork and other items and especially all of those who came to bid on the offerings. Without all of these people combined, we would not have had a successful event. The money will be used for our winter operating expenses — heat, lights, payroll, etc. We are a non-profit 501 c3 organization that relies on fundraisers and donations. If you want more information on how you can help us, call (509) 486-1328.

Sincerely,

Janet Culp
