Ruth Kansas Cuthbert, age 97 ,peacefully went on to be with the Lord on April 25th, 2016 in Wenatchee, Wash. She was born January 29th, 1919 in St. Francis, Kansas and was one of 18 brothers and sisters. She had 4 sons: Tommy, Phil, Dennis and David as well as one daughter: Judi.

Ruth adopted many additional grandsons and granddaughters in her lifetime who called her “Grandma Ruthie.”. She was a sensational cook, amazing seamstress, and provided unconditional love to anyone she ever encountered. Her greatest joy in life was her family with whom she played many games of Scrabble with. She loved attending church, doing crossword puzzles, canning fruits and jam, reading countless Louis L’Amour books and watching sports. No matter what she was doing Ruth maintained a posture of elegance, by making sure she always had her lipstick on and her nails painted pretty in pink.

Ruth was a lover of the outdoors, especially hummingbirds that would always visit her feeders. She loved fishing and visiting Bonaparte Lake as much as she could. She particularly enjoyed going to her “job” at the Senior Center for many years where she hosted and greeted people with a smile.

She spent her last days in Wenatchee with her son Phil. She is survived by her loving son and daughter, Phil and Judi and many other countless friends and family.

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at the Community Church in Tonasket, Wash. on Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m. Address is 24 West 4th Street Tonasket, Wash. 98855.
