OROVILLE – Oroville’s fifth annual Kite Day will be held at the Bud Clark Ballfields on Saturday, March 31, starting at 10 a.m.

Sponsored by the Oroville Royal Neighbors of America, the group says there will be free kites to the first 100 children. They will also be serving cookies and cocoa again this year, said Royal Neighbor Marilyn McCauley.

Started as part of Oroville’s Centennial Celebration in 2008, the organization describes the popular event as “fun for children of all ages.” People with their own kites are also welcome to participate
