Martha May Denison, 76, a resident of the Deer Park, entered heaven’s gates Friday morning, June 5, 2016. She was born on July 19, 1940 in Elm Grove, Oklahoma, the third of 10 children, to Eugene Sallee and Opal Webb Sallee.

Martha fell in love with and later married Robert A. Denison on July 13, 1957 in Elm Grove, Okla. They celebrated almost 60 years together. Robert’s job as an equipment operator building pipelines took them to many different parts of the country, including Wisconsin, Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and in 1976, Washington State.
In Washington, Martha worked for Chief Tonasket Apples in Tonasket. In 1990, Martha and Robert relocated to the Auburn, Wash, area where Martha began work for Krusteaz Foods. She worked there until she and Robert retired and moved to the Spokane area in 2002.
Martha took great pride in making their house a home no matter where home was. You would always find a warm welcome, a home cooked meal and a fresh batch of cookies in the kitchen. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, whom she adored.
She was so loved by all who knew her and will truly be missed. Her legacy of being a wonderful Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend will always be remembered.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Sue Brock and Georgia Anderson; her brothers, Bud, Claude and Raymond Sallee.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter Peggy McDaniel and husband Stan of Newport; and sons Leslie Denison and wife Teri of Clayton, Robert C. Denison of Tacoma, Ronald Denison and wife Melanie of Buckley, and Donald Denison of Tacoma; grandchildren Brandon McDaniel, Susan Redezky, Robert, Rocky, and Ty McDaniel, Eryn Whalen, Lesly Birkland, Emily and Jayrd Denison, Gracie and Ava Denison, Isaiah Denison, and Natalie Kierce; great grandchildren Will, Dusty, Josie, and Hadley McDaniel, Danny and Eli Birkland, Tyrion and Evelyn Whalen; brothers, Allen Sallee, Virgil Sallee and wife Linda, Bill Sallee and wife Fern, all of Elm Grove, Okla., Paul Glen Sallee and wife Diane of Muskogee; sisters-in-law Maurine Flood and husband, Bob of Broken Arrow, Okla., many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Celebration of Martha’s life will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2016 at Tri-County Christian Center, E 320 “H” Street Deer Park, Wash. with Pastor Tim White officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Brandon, Robert, Rocky and Ty McDaniel, her granddaughter Susan’s husband, Jeremy Radezky, her daughter Peggy’s husband, Stan.
Funeral services are under the direction of Lauer Funeral Home 204 N Main Street Deer Park, Washington. Condolences may be made to the family will be donated in honor of Martha to Children’s Cancer Research Fund, and the Hospice House of North Spokane.
