LaDean Ann Murphy Peterson Lyons went to join her Lord on Sept. 18, 2007. LaDean was born July 4, 1958 at Enterprise, Oregon to Bernard and Rita Murphy.

LaDean had lived in Oroville for the last 25 years and most recently had resided at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Spokane. She worked at the local warehouses and was a much-loved babysitter. LaDean enjoyed knitting and often made hats and scarves for family members. She also enjoyed growing houseplants and working in her yard. In 1982 she married John Peterson and they had two children, Scott and Sara. LaDean later married Greg Lyons.

LaDean is survived by her children Scott (JoAnn) of Spokane; daughter, Sara (Alex) of Oroville; stepson, Aaron of Arkansas; brothers, Earl and family of Oregon, Delbert and family of Spokane and Terry of Spokane; sister, Audrey Handiside and family of Oroville and Kelly Mactheny of Ohio. She also leaves many friends from the Valley Christian Fellowship Church of Oroville.

Memorial services celebrating LaDean’s life will be held at the Valley Christian Fellowship Church at 1 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2007 with Pastor Randy McAllister officiating. Please join the family and friends following the service at the Oroville Depot for a potluck lunch. In lieu of flowers LaDean wishes for donations to the Cancer Society, the Hospice Centers or other charity of choice.
