Toast of Oroville Wine Festival this Saturday

OROVILLE – The Oroville Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Toast of Oroville Wine Festival will be held at City Park this Saturday, July 30 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The Toast of Oroville ‘A Grape Experience’ features six local wineries – Okanogan Estate and Vineyards, Copper Mountain, Lake Crest, Esther Bricques and Veranda Beach, from Oroville and Rockwall from Omak. There will also be beer from Alpine Brewery, food from FB’s Family Grill and DJ Dan will provide the music.

“Last year was so much fun we decided to do it again,” said Cindy DeVon, one of the organizers of the festival. “We’re inviting everyone to come taste the various regional wines, try our local beer and have some great food and maybe purchase some of your favorite wines in our wine store.”

Proceeds from the event go to help fund the Oroville Chamber of Commerce to bring more people to town, especially during the summer season. After the wine festival is over participants are encouraged to check out the many businesses Oroville has to offer, including several fine restaurants like FB’s Family Diner which is providing samples off their Greek menu at the festival again this year.

This is a wine- and beer-tasting event so is open to only those age 21-and-over in the tasting area. However, children are allowed outside the roped off area. The cost to sample is $15 for a stem-less Toast of Oroville glass and 10 sample tickets to be used for the wine or beer of your choice.

The Oroville Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event to promote the local wines and beers in the region. The wine festival is also sponsored by RE/MAX Lake and Country, Sonora Shores, the Okanogan Valley Gazette-Tribune/NCW Media Inc., Prince’s Foods, Windermere Real Estate, Prince’s Department Store, Sun Lakes Realty, Community Auto, FB’s Family Diner, Nulton Irrigation, Frontier Foods and Gold Digger Apples.
