Symposium set for Tonasket

TONASKET – An Awaken the Dreamer Symposium is set for Tonasket on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Cultural Center located at 411 S. Western Ave.

The symposium’s purpose is to help bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on Earth. It explores some consequences of the current patterns of consumption and the unexamined assumptions behind our habits. Through a series of videos and activities the symposium leads us through the questions of: Where are we? How did we get here? What is possible? And where do we go from here?

This symposium, presented over the last five years in over 40 countries to over 10,000 people, is designed to not only explore a new vision for our culture, but to help empower individual communities. The final section of this symposium will focus on the North Okanogan community, with its unique tapestry of people. Interested individuals and representatives of organizations from throughout the area are invited to come strengthen bridges and consider how we can navigate the challenging times ahead.
