Oroville School Board selects three finalists for superintendent

Staff and public get a chance to aid board in final decision

OROVILLE – The Oroville School Board has selected three applicants for the Oroville Superintendent position and scheduled a chance for district staff and the public to meet the candidates one at a time on three separate days.

The candidates seeking to replace Steve Quick, who will be leaving the district at the end of the school year are: Craig Dwight, Director/Principal of the Yakima Skills Center; Dr. Lynn Johnson, P.E. teacher for the Oroville School District and a former Oroville Elementary Principal and Byron Stutzman, Superintendent from Crook County, Wyoming.

Each candidate will spend a day in the district culminating in a public meeting at 6 p.m. in the High School Library. Community members are invited to attend, meet the candidates, and ask questions that help the school Board in making the final decision.

The candidates are scheduled as follows:

  • Craig Dwight Tuesday, April 12
  • Dr. Lynn Johnson, Wednesday, April 13
  • Byron Stutzman, Wednesday April 20
