OROVILLE – The 2010 Veterans Day Assembly was held at Oroville High School from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11 and put on by the 2010 Senior Class.

There was a lot of preparation, hard work, and thought put into this year’s assembly. As in recent years all posters, multimedia videos and all other arrangements were done by the Oroville Class of 2011, this year’s seniors. The hosts, Amanda McAllister and Reinna Quick, managed the event with posters done by Derek Tucker, Ronnie Davis, Brett Clough, Tyler Herrera, Haily Naclerio and Alex Beltran. Vidoes were contributed by Jayden Smith, Catie Arrigoni, Taylor Sarmiento, Elizabeth Placencio, Brittany Buckmiller, Cheyenne Sharpe, Ashley Glover and Preston Iverson.

The Oroville Band and Choir under the direction of Erik Stiles did an amazing performance. The band performed the National Anthem and American Patrol. The choir sang the “Armed Forces Salute” accompanied by Elizabeth Grunst playing piano and Luke Kindred playing percussion.

All Oroville School District students and personal attended the assembly, veterans and guests from the community were also in attendance. We hope for even more members of the community to attend next year and are very thankful for those who could make the assembly this year. The seniors want to thank everyone for their respect and support of our veterans. Remember to give thanks to all veterans the have served and protected our country in the past.
