OMAK – A long-time Okanogan shop has a new home off Omak Road in Omak.

Shady Creek Gardens and Ponds recently moved to 388 Omak Road, about a half mile east of the Wal-Mart in Omak.

Shady Creek is owned by Donna Newell and has been in business since 1996. It is a full-service nursery and landscape installation contracting business, also selling a wide variety of trees, shrubs, perennials, herbs, hanging baskets, pond making supplies and display gardens and ponds, including Koi fish. They also install automatic irrigation systems and can design and plant a water-conserving low-maintenance garden for local homes or businesses. It carries many large-caliper trees and quality concrete statuary, birdbaths, fountains and benches.

Newell is a certified arborist and takes pride in giving gardeners accurate advice for successful gardening: what is hardy, what needs shade, water requirements, what looks especially beautiful next to each other, according to a business description.

They are also currently featuring an Xtreme Makeover Contest. Call (509) 422-4444 for more details.

Shady Creek is open from 8-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday at 388 Omak Road in Omak.
